REVIEW OF PRACTICAL PROBLEMS ARISING FROM THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN DUST GENERATORS AND DUST COLLECTORS

The main body of information given in this paper is concerned with difficulties that are experienced on dust collectors after their commissioning period. A surfeit of literature exists elsewhere to describe the 'theory' of the various types of dust collector but few papers describe the troubles which follow their installation, and fewer still concern themselves with the means of overcoming site problems. Part of the text is concerned with the description of fumes and the properties of the dust and gases that constitute the fumes. There is discussion of the effect that fume can have on the dust collector itself and the later sections are concerned with the difficulties of extracting gas from the dust collector and recovering dust from the dust collector.
