摘要
In light of disruptive and fast pace changes in the German healthcare sector, strategic planning has nowadays become a prerequisite for securing the existence of hospitals. Thereby, strategies serve as frameworks for organizational activities that rely on realistic assumptions about future developments. These assumptions can be derived using different methods, such as forecasting and scenario analysis. Scenario analysis appears to be more efficient than traditional forecasting, especially for highly dynamic and uncertain fields. As a method for strategic planning, scenario analysis may also be suitable for the innovative field of cardiovascularmedicine, particularly for the purpose of strategic positioning within the highly competitive fields of cardiology and heart surgery.
