摘要
This paper aims to discuss the implementation process of strategic management at the Brazilian Chamber of Deputies, in order to reveal their backgrounds and motivations, the key moments, achievements and future challenges. The research approach chosen was historical-descriptive. Research activities included literature review, documental research and qualitative interviews. The findings indicate that the implementation of strategic management in the Chamber of Deputies is a complex and multifaceted process, due its characteristics of a public institution, highly hierarchized and with a pronounced division of labor. There is a slow progress of the process, due to the nature of the Chamber of Deputies. The case has relevant elements to research on strategic management in public sector, by presenting the process analytically and compared with theory, and by focusing the Legislative Power.
