HIGHLY INDUCED VOLTAGE IN A VACUUM SPARK DISCHARGE

摘要
The magnetic field diffusion model is modified to calculate the induced high voltage in the vacuum spark discharge by assuming a current shell which contracts or expands radially with a finite velocity. For a contracting plasma column, the thus obtained hard X-ray (> 150 keV) spectrum is similar to that of experimental measurement. The theory is also supported by the experimental observation that the plasma region emitting the hard X-rays is less than 100 mum in dimension and that this is closely associated with the microplasma formation.
