摘要
Excitation functions for the (p, Be-7) reactions on V-50,51, Nb-93 and Au-197 were measured for the first time over the proton energy range of 40 to 100 MeV using the stacked-foil technique. The accumulated Be-7 in each target foil was radiochemically separated and its radioactivity determined via gamma-ray spectrometry. The cross section ranges between 3 and 100 mub and the excitation function becomes flatter with the increasing mass of the target nucleus. A systematic analysis of our and the available literature data showed that the (p, Be-7) cross section decreases with the increasing mass of the target nucleus, a trend in agreement with the general behaviour of complex particle emission reactions.
