摘要
Formation of equiatomic TiAl has been achieved through mechanical alloying of powders of two brittle compounds Al3Ti and TiH2. The influence of milling time, compaction of the powder by hot isostatic pressing, and elevated temperature exposure on the species and proportion of phases formed has been determined. X-ray diffraction techniques have been extensively used to characterize the phases present.
