摘要
Trade unions, athenaeums, libraries, newspapers and associations gave life to the multifaceted Montevideo anarchist movement during the first half of the 20th century. While working and popular classes had their own expressions, ideas and behaviors in relation to 'free time', anarchists gave critical thought to most of them. Guided by their ideas of education and 'enlightenment', healthy recreation, hygienism, and physical culture, proposed various alternative cultural forms, sports and recreations, that succeeded in reaching certain sectors of Montevidean society. In that period the anarchists modified some of their interpretations and alternative proposals. It is intented to show part of this route and discuss the causes of such changes.
