Radiative heat transfer in an anisotropically-scattering medium is considered. Limiting expressions for the scattering contribution to the geometric-mean transmittance are developed. Using the kernel substitution technique, these expressions are evaluated analytically to provide closed form expressions for three selected two-dimensional geometries. These expressions allow conclusions to be drawn about the effect of anisotropic scattering in multi-dimensional systems.
