The role of the University of Holguin (Cuba) in the process of technological innovation in the Agroindustrial Rice Complex

The University has played a fundamental role and should engage to implement its three substantive functions, giving emphasis among them, to the extension function, as instance that links the University with society, especially with the productive sector. The discursion about the University-Enterprise relationship has surpassed today the narrow optics of the interest of the parts involved and become a field ofexperimentation of new economic policies oriented to support research and innovation and generalization processes at national and local scales. A review is presented with positive experiences gained in the, application in the industrial and services economical sectors of the research results of the University of Holguin.
