Articles on public expenditure and education published in international journals

The study aims to characterize articles on public expenditure and education published in international journals between 2007 and 2011. Descriptive study was conducted through document analysis and quantitative approach. From the search of the terms "public expenditure and education" in the title, abstract or keywords of articles published in journals in Science Direct database, 65 articles were identified. The results show that the subject with the highest rate of publications was public expenditure, followed by education and education / public expenditure. The year 2011 stood out by the volume of publications on the issues in focus. United States is the country which ranks first. The analysis of the networking relating the themes to the authors shows that only Patrinos, HA and Sakellariou, C wrote on the two subjects. The study of institutions networks shows structural shortcomings in the social network. In the authors network, the central position was occupied by the author Bhatt, R. Part of authors produces in co-authority with two other authors, followed by those who produce by themselves. It is concluded that there are still gaps that may be subject of research on public expenditure and education.
