3 NEW SPECIES OF THE GENUS HIPPOSIDEROBIA WITH NOTES ON SUBGENERA (ACARINA, MYOBIIDAE)

Hipposiderobia (Orientobia) semoni n. sp., Hipposiderobia (Orientobia) brevisetosa n. sp., and Hipposiderobia (Hipposiderobia) ateri n. sp. are described and illustrated based on both sexes taken from the museum specimens of Hipposideros semoni and Hipposideros ater. The tarsal chaetotaxy on legs II-IV for the subgenus Hipposiderobia is emended to 6(5)-3-3 from 6-3-3. The tibial chaetotaxy on legs II-IV is mostly 6-5-5 in the nominate subgenus but 6-4-4 in subgenus Orientobia. Synhospitaly by congeners of different subgenera is found on H. ater. It is thought that the nominate subgenus is distributed throughout the range of the host family Hipposideridae, whereas subgenus Orientobia is restricted to areas east to Afghanistan, that is, the Oriental and Australasian zoogeographic regions.
