摘要
In this comment I react to four investigations of the Theory of Work Adjustment (TWA), focusing on issues requiring debate and points requiring elaboration. I call for an increased recognition in the theory of the role of cognitive processes, affect, and human volition as influencers of vocational behavior and for consideration of the effects of enabling factors in investigations of the TWA model. Potentially fruitful avenues of investigation are identified involving the relations among the TWA personality and adjustment style dimensions and the personality factors and facets measured by the NEO PI-R. I conclude with more integrative comments and a challenge for vocational psychologists. © 1993 Academic Press, Inc.
