摘要
Background. Epidemiological research carried out in the last years proved an increasing incidence of allergic diseases, including atopic ones. Objectives. The aim of this study was to pre-assess the incidence of atopy and atopic diseases in the group of junior high schoolchildren from Szczecin. Material and methods. The study involved 147 person from Szczecin aged 14-16. They took part in a survey, spirometric examination and skin prick test performed with common inhalatory allergens. Results. In 12.2% of the participants an allergic disease was diagnosed. Conclusions. In the population examined, allergic diseases were less common than in teenagers from other parts of Poland.
