摘要：
Half of all pregnancies are unplanned and a significant proportion of unplanned pregnancies are aborted. We still see many patients who present to the emergency departments with complications arising from unsafe abortions despite the availability of legal termination of pregnancy services in the state and private sectors. Emergency contraception has the potential to reduce significantly the incidence of unwanted pregnancies and the consequent need for abortion.
