MEAT PERFORMANCE OF HYBRID BULLS OF THE BOHEMIAN PIED AND LIMOUSINE BREEDS

摘要
Two groups of bullocks were fattened in the practical farming conditions: progeny of sires of the Limousine breed and dams of the Bohemian Pied breed (C x Li) and bullocks of the Bohemian Pied Cattle (C) (control group). Fattening performance and characteristics of carcass and technological analyses were evaluated. In the fattening performance the hybrid bulls had lower weight gains by 51 g in the period until the start of fattening (the differences were insignificant), and higher weight gains during the fattening - by 33 g. In the carcass analysis they had lower fat yield, lower weight proportions of head, limbs and skin. The results of technological analysis indicated in the hybrid bulls significantly higher meat yield by 2.29 %, slightly higher total meat production and lower proportions of fat and bones. The better fleshing of hybrid bulls was given by the larger eye-muscle area by 3.46 cm2. The chemical analysis of eye-muscle samples with the practically identical dry matter contents demonstrated in the hybrid bulls slightly lower fat contents and on the other hand, higher contents of crude protein.
