摘要
Maxwell optical solitons are evaluated, in a non-linear mono-mode weakly inhogeneous medium, under the slowly-varying envelope approximation and by an "average" method applied to Maxwell eigenmodes. Differences in the group velocity, maximum amplitude and boundary between bright and dark solitons are found with respect to the scalar theory. The Mukunda-Simon-Sudarshan formalism, based on the front form of relativistic dynamics, constitutes the starting point for deriving this kind of non-linear pulses. © 1990.
