The curricular and extracurricular presence of social anthropology in Basque secondary education

摘要：
Despite a long-established tradition of ethnographic studies carried out in the Basque Country, social anthropology has always been limited to an elective course in the second and final year of the humanities and social sciences modality of the bachillerato (secondary education preparing students for university admission). This article offers a description of how anthropology has been implemented in this curriculum of study, and an analysis of extracurricular activities that could potentially be included in the study of anthropology. Finally, it suggests steps that may be taken to strengthen the presence of this discipline in the school system.
