The morphogenic calluses and plant regeneration of alfalfa cv. Lucia from leaves, petiole and stem segments were induced. For callus induction a cultivation medium GMK with added growth regulators 2,4-D (8 mg.1-1), KIN (8 mg.1-1) and NAA (0.5 mg.1-1) were used. The morphogenic processes in calluses were induced on B5 medium with BAP (0.2 mg.1-1) followed on GMR medium (without growth regulators). Green globular structures arising from the calluses formed either shoots and roots simultaneously or shoots only. Roots were induced on rooting medium GMZ (half strength GM medium). Obtained rooted alfalfa regenerants were transferred into the soil and gradually adapted to the artificial cultivation conditions.
