SELF-ORGANIZATION OF THE STRUCTURE OF A SURFACE-LAYER IN FRICTION UNDER SELECTIVE-TRANSFER CONDITIONS

摘要
The structural changes over the depth of the deformation zone in copper alloys leading to self-organization of the wear resistance of a metal film at a frictional surface are considered: the formation of an effective diffusional flux, the attainment of characteristic values of the physical broadening of X-ray lines and the crystal-lattice period in the surface layer, and the formation of a modified subsurface layer. The influence of the test conditions on self-organization is discussed.
