Kinetic methods of analysis are well-suited to intelligent automation. Kinetic methods require precise timing and very careful control over experimental conditions, such as temperature, pH and reagent concentrations. Automated systems are ideal for providing these functions. In addition, some of the most recent advances in kinetic methods take advantage of computer automation and chemometric data processing to provide new kinetic analyzers, reduction and storage of large multidimensional data sets, multicomponent determinations and compensation for variations in conditions. Based on the concepts and recent advances presented here, the intelligent kinetic analyzer is developed and some of its most important features are described. © 1990.
