LATE-QUATERNARY ABYSSAL WATER CIRCULATION IN THE CANARY BASIN ACCORDING TO BENTHIC FORAMINIFERA DATA

摘要：

Nine cores of the bottom sediments taken from depths of 2900-5430 m from Canary basin (about 20-degrees-N) have been studied. Their stratigraphic dissection was carried out by planktonic foraminifera. Various benthic foraminifera communities are characteristic for distinguished horizons. The distribution of predominant species within communities enables us to judge about propagation of deep and bottom water masses in the Canary basin since the last interglacial period up to recent time.
