The reception of Machado de Assis in Portugal in the 19th century

The objective of this work is to construct an overview about the circulation of Machado de Assis' work among the main periodicals and literary anthologies published in Portugal in the 19th century. For this purpose, we conduct a first-hand research, a field work, contacting without intermediation with these main journals, which enabled us to contribute with new data and to verify information previously known. In addition, we reviewed the main works already published on the subject.
