摘要：

Since the 50' s the Law has been working with computer technology in its environment and, more recently, with Artificial Intelligence (AI). Unfortunately, the Brazilian legal community is practically absent from discussions involving the applications of AI to Law. This article, making a historic appeal of this new field of legal knowledge called "Artificial Intelligence and Law", through some of its main projects, aims to provoke the interest of our jurists on the modern mechanisms of automation of the legal reasoning.
