摘要
Due to the impact of asserting immigrants from Shanxi during the Hongwu period of the Ming Dynasty, it was widespread to refer to "Father" as "Ge" (Elder Brother) and "Mother" as "Jie" (Elder Sister) in the Hanxin area of Jin dialect in Hebei Province by the end of Ming Dynasty. Owing to the De-Mongolization policy during the Ming Dynasty, these kin terms gradually faded away from the basic vocabulary. The reference of Mother as "Jie" is currently found only in Yongnian dialect. In addition, "Father" used to be called "Bo" (father's elder brother) according to the local custom, but it has also disappeared from the basic vocabulary. Only the term "Lao Bo" (godfather) is still found in Yongnian dialect.
