The evolution of urban planning in shaping the public space of the peripheral area of BOGOTA

This article approaches the topic of public space at periphery zones in Bogota city based on the studio of its own relation with housing. It explores the defense of the public space as a meeting place for individuals, and as the preeminently place to develop the citizen condition, finally as the structuring component of urban spatiality. This article shows that, when its structuring task on space and social condition is denied, it leads to the construction of an unequal, deficient and excluding periphery.
