The argentine agrarian bourgeoisie and the coup d'etat of 1976

This article presents an advance of investigation on the political action of the Argentine bourgeoisie in the period before the restoration of the military government headed by the General Videla in 1976. We seek to prove that certain fractions of the bourgeoisie organized to stimulate the military coup, visualized like the only alternative to the revolutionary threat of some sectors of the working and middle class. We will center especially on the agrarian bourgeoisie, paying particular attention to one of the interest groups, the one that was expressing his interests: the Argentine Rural Society.
