Punta Mita in the dynamics of the regional tourism development

The installment of tourism as a generating economic activity on the middle coast of the Mexican Pacific has developed, for more than 30 years, the process of configuration of a territorial tourism space founded on transversal public policies for the regional development. Initially, with the promotion of tourism it was intended to stimulate capacities and social welfare according to the regional development approach; however, planning trajectory has been aligned its course towards economic interests of competitive character, though twisted to the exigencies of the global market, deriving synergies of dependence and exclusion which are obstacles to sustainability of the local-regional tourism system, where a re-conversion of the process on the side of the actors of interest arises.
