摘要
Engineering education must evolve to meet the challenges of the XXI century. The fall in the number of students enrolled in engineering degrees is continuous. Unfortunately, it is usual to consider basic subjects such as filters and useless for the professional development of engineers. Logically, the basic subjects are the first to be studied. Certainly, improving the quality of its teaching helps reduce the drop-out students. In this paper, we examine the training, instruction and professional activity of graduates in engineering. It is proposed to represent engineering education using the symbolism of a tree. Thus, the basic training would be the tree trunk. This knowledge makes it easier for engineers changing field of professional activity, if necessary. Similarly, the trunk of a tree helps to change the aerial part of a tree. On the other hand, a teaching methodology that promotes teamwork facilitates the activity of these professionals. To promote the employment of these graduates, it is necessary to improve the knowledge that private enterprise on engineering education.
