VIBRATIONAL AND ROTATIONAL EFFECTS ON FRAGMENTATION OF CF3I VIA (2+1) RESONANCE-ENHANCED MULTIPHOTON IONIZATION

摘要
The fragmentation behavior of CF3I in the resonance-enhanced multiphoton ionization (REMPI) spectrum through the electronic C state is investigated. Rotational bandshape simulations are used to establish the existence of an inhomogeneous predissociation of the resonant intermediate state. Differences in the rotational profiles with parent and fragment ion detection suggest rotational state dependence of the dissociation of the electronically excited CF3I+ ion. In addition, a vibrational mode dependence is observed in the ratio of I+ to CF3I+ signal, with levels involving excitation Of nu3, the symmetric C-1 stretch, exhibiting a higher ratio than other vibrationally excited levels with a similar amount of vibrational energy.
