PRECIPITATION IN CU-RICH CO-TI TERNARY ALLOYS

摘要
The decomposition of two dilute Cu-Co-Ti alloys is investigated by resistivity measurements, transmission electron microscopy, and analytical scanning transmission electron microscopy. The Cu - 1%CoTi alloy shows a quasi-binary behaviour. Even after annealing at 950-degrees-C and quenching, ''primary'' CoTi precipitates are present. After annealing at 525 to 600-degrees-C, a large amount of small CoTi precipitates was observed in Cu. Despite the ''primary'' CoTi precipitates and the very low solute content, a large initial driving force for the precipitation of CoTi explains the easy homogeneous nucleation of a significant amount of precipitates.
