摘要：
This article aims at understanding the contemporary Kaxixio Indians ethno genesis process through research into their historical roots. For such, it questions the anthropological concept of ethnic identity, synchronic and contrastive, pointing out the need for a diachronic approach to interpret the identity phenomenon.
