摘要
Concentrations of ammonia-nitrogen and orthophosphate analysed daily from a tank containing European carp increased over a sampling period of 3 weeks. Concentrations from a control tank without fish remained just detectable. Ammonia-nitrogen came from fish excretion because of feeding prior to the experiment. Ammonia-nitrogen concentration peaked within 10 days as a result of starvation. Orthophosphate concentration, which increased linearly, originated from fish excretion as a result of either stress or body weight loss through starvation.
