POETIC ITINERARY OF JULIO ANTONIO DE LA ROSA

This article is a critical close up of Julio Antonio de la Rosa's literary career, a poet who could be placed at the dawning of avant-garde lyric poetry in the Canary Islands, on whom there is hardly any relevant research. It is indeed due to his status as a poet ahead of the island avant-garde movement -a fact which has been pointed out not only by contemporary but also by current critics-that in his poems influences of the various isms can be found, following the same path of his generation writers such as Domingo Lopez Torres, Emeterio Gutierrez Albelo, Agustin Espinosa o Pedro Garcia Cabrera.
