摘要：
Thyroid storm is a rare but life-threatening exacerbation of the hyperthyroid state. Prompt recognition and aggressive treatment are generally effective at correcting the homeostatic decompensation that is the hallmark of thyroid storm. Acute therapy is aimed at correction of the hyperthyroidism, supportive measures to restore homeostasis, and treatment of any underlying precipitating events. Research is furthering our understanding of the cellular actions of thyroid hormone and may lead to additional effective treatment modalities in the future.
