摘要
A gap exists between the needs of today's workforce and the output provided by the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) industry. To minimize this gap, sustainable development is defined as the process in which ICT solutions can continue to provide increasing business benefits within reasonable economic, organizational, and schedule limits. This process is often difficult to achieve for organizations because the needs of the workforce are not positioned as driving forces that shape technology solutions and change is not managed as a fundamental component of technology development. This paper presents Enterprise Information Architecture (ELA) as a business-driven framework to assist in the definition, design, and implementation of ICT solutions that link an organization's strategic, organizational, and business process components. These characteristics of an EIA are presented as fundamental components of sustainable development for an organization.
