摘要
There are too many the contributions of Freire to education. Today, when we commemorate 10 years of his passing away it is important to recognize some of his highlights. Beginning with The pedagogy of the oppressed, the book that has traveled the world carrying with it the new conscience of liberation; Education for freedom where he presents reflection and action as the research strategy for oppressed populations to look at themselves and find solutions to their problems; Education and politics that formulates the challenge that education has to attend the social and political dimensions in teaching tolerance; and finally, Letters to whom may become an educator, that elaborates on the teaching of learning how to think as the path to knowledge.
