Critical study of the Dictionaire Francois-Arabesque by the French captive Germain Mouette, published in Paris in 1683 as part of his autobiographical memory entitled Relation de captivite du Sieur Mouette. It is one of the scarce examples of European lexicons or dictionaries of Moroccan Arabic published in the Modern period, and it refers to the period 1670-1681, to the times of the king Louis XIV (1661-1715) and the sultans Mulay Rashid (1666-1672) and Mulay Ismail (1672-1727).
