摘要：
The federal government participates significantly in financing medical education, including training of many specialists. Current opinion holds that there are too many specialists and too few primary care physicians. The federal government must exercise greater influence regarding how its funds for medical education are spent, so as to provide the appropriate workforce for its citizens medical care needs.
