STRATEGIC MANAGEMENT IN TILAPIA PRODUCTION. A CASE STUDY OF INECAP AQUACULTURE FARM IN TOMATLAN, JALISCO, MEXICO

This paper aims to show the design of the strategic approach that will enable the competitive development of the INECAP aquaculture farm. The method used for this purpose considers a situation analysis to outline the business philosophy viewed in its mission statement, vision statement, and values, as well as establishing strategic objectives for shaping their vision, strategy, and structure for its implementation. Indicators for performance evaluation were also proposed. The results show that cooperative societies such as INECAP possess certain characteristics that make them vulnerable to today's dynamic scenarios, and the importance of aquaculture as evidenced by its rapid growth. The study describes strategies and measures to be implemented that are consistent with the situation, available resources, and government support measures that contribute to increasing productivity and competitiveness.
