摘要
The paper describes two commercially available programs that can be used to design and analyze soil-retaining walls that are constructed with horizontal sheets of geosynthetic reinforcement The programs differ in their scope, program interface, and flexibility to optimize design during a user session. Both programs have been written for micro-computers operating under MS-DOS 3.0 or greater and have a graphical interface that allows the user to view the problem cross-section at any stage in the design process. The analyses that are implemented in the programs are based on current recommended practice in North America. External stability is examined by using a 'gravity wall structure' analog, and a 'tie-back wedge' approach is used for internal stability.
