The edges of protectionism: limits and restrictions on the exercise of human rights

In a recent decision taken by the Supreme Court of Justice of Mexico, the Court stated that restrictions on human rights expressly contained in the country's constitution must be respected at all times over those human rights provisions regulated by international treaties signed by Mexico. Hereafter, this paper will present a discussion of the importance acquired, by virtue of this jurisdictional decision, the legal force of the restrictions imposed on the exercise of human rights in the country.
