STRUCTURE AND PERPENDICULAR ANISOTROPY IN GD/FE MULTILAYERS SPUTTER-DEPOSITED WITH SUBSTRATE BIAS

摘要
Film structures and magnetic properties in Gd/Fe multilayers sputter-deposited with the substrate bias (V(B)) have been investigated. The negative V(B) sharpened and flattened the layer interfaces and reduced the sizes of the Fe crystal grain size. The surface anisotropy was larger for the films with V(B) = -30 V in the crystalline Fe layer region and for the 0 V films in the amorphous Fe layer region.
