This study is a descriptive study, of qualitative nature and possibility an analysis of the self management of aged women after the insertion in a Program for aged people in a Federal Public University. It also approaches the meanings that are attributed to the education for the citizens of this research. A structuralized half interview was applied in a group of 10 aged women in the dependences of the related Program. As result of this study, we identify the following categories: the study and unmasking of the world, the study making possible the increase of the social participation and the self management.
