Family Privacy Orientation, Relational Maintenance, and Family Satisfaction in Young Adults' Family Relationships

摘要：
In this study, 264 college students reported on their family's orientation toward privacy rules, their own maintenance behaviors with family members, and their satisfaction with their family. Results indicated that relational maintenance behaviors mediate the relationship between family privacy orientation and family satisfaction. Interior family privacy orientation was positively related to both relational maintenance and family satisfaction. Within the mediated model, positivity and network maintenance were also positive predictors of family satisfaction. Privacy orientation and maintenance variables accounted for 48% of the variance in family satisfaction.
