The school as promoting health and physical activity

The educative institution as a learning scenario should play a principal role in promoting health and preventing disease from early ages; especially now, that children have different kinds of risks. Physical education is undoubtedly an ideal or privileged area from which to teach in health can be understood in a broad sense. This paper presents an overview of current approaches of various authors about the school role (with the necessary participation of the actors) as promoter of healthy lifestyles, especially from the area of physical education.
