摘要
Inside Knowledge Society there are two opposite models of management: free and propietary knowledge. Both generate technological and innovation development but the former favours the emergence of open societies. Using von Hippel's proposals, this paper shows the antagonism between both models affects not only production and distribution but also storage and distribution of knowledge. Users are the main source for innovation in the case of Free and Libre Software, specially advance users. This fact shows the appearance of a new mode for the technological practice based on shared and free use of knowledge technologies. Nevertheless free use of knowledge must have limits in some cases.
