摘要：
An inverse filtering approach is used to calculate the drive waveforms required by various transducers to produce short-duration pressure pulses in air. A systematic comparison is made between 'wide range' and 'tweeter' loudspeakers, a piezoelectric device, and an electromagnetic earpiece. In addition, a 'step' method is described and used with the latter two transducers. This technique represents a simple means of producing a pressure pulse (theoretically) equal in duration to half the natural period of a resonant transducer.
