摘要：

The main objective of this research is to analyze one of the most notorious examples of the XIX century biological reductionism: the Criminal Anthropology, a theory which had a major influence on different areas. Nevertheless, it was in the penal law where Lombroso's influence remained longer, as his ideas were materialized in the penal codes of several countries. We'll try to enlighten Lombroso's thoughts under the influence of Darwin's theory and the Hackelian idea of recapitulation, and finally the factors which favoured this theory credibility at its time.
