Characteristics of the discourse in the classroom as mediation for the development of the critical thinking

摘要
This article deals with the teacher's classroom discourse characteristics and the student's classroom discourse characteristics that could be related to critical thinking. We analyzed the discourse through the Functional Grammar perspectives, focus on how the language shows evidence of highest mental skills and how could be encourage this abilities in the students across the evaluation. Results show the teacher's discourse does not promote the critical thinking in the classroom neither the evaluation used as a tool for reach it.
