摘要
Mexican-American high school students (24 boys and 24 girls) participated in a study of the effects of acculturation, gender, and counselor ethnicity on ratings of counselor effectiveness. Students were divided into two groups on the basis of acculturation level (high or low bicultural) as measured by the Acculturation Rating Scale for Mexican Americans (Cuellar, Harris, & Jasso, 1980) and rated a videotaped simulated counseling session featuring either an Anglo-American or Mexican-American male counselor and adolescent male client. A 2 × 2 × 2 factorial design revealed no significant findings for the four dependent variables of the Counselor Effectiveness Rating Scale (Atkinson & Wampold, 1982). Results are discussed and recommendations for further study are outlined.
